Next year, two different plays will be performed, one based on a script directed by Twister-member Oscar and another piece that will be created in collaboration with director Fieke. Below you can read what the directors wrote about their play.
Fieke's play (open for International members)
Have you always wanted to further develop your passion for theatre? Do you write your own texts, do you have a feel for music? Do you have a special party trick, or are you curious about what theatre is?
Together with the group, we will rehearse every Thursday towards a performance. Will this be an adaptation of an existing piece? Or will it be a self-written piece with musical interventions? Who knows! We will discover that together through exploration. I am Fieke Noordeman, a recent graduate theater maker from Artez in Arnhem. I have a passion for theatre and believe that theatre connects. I am very excited to start working together, and I expect that if you sign up to join, you are committed and show dedication. The rehearsals start on the 24th of October and will be every Thursday. I can't wait, see you soon! (You don't need theater experience to participate).
The waiting room (directed by Oscar)
What is the play about?
A group of friends unexpectedly end up in Death's waiting room, which gives them time to make peace with their own death. The group of friends, all individuals with their own views on life and death, each deal with this in their own way. All of this is overseen by Death and his assistant, who start to empathize with the group more than they would like to
What can you expect from the process?
The play focuses mainly on the characters and their mutual relationships. Each role has its own philosophies, insights, and emotions that we will work with. The focus is on building round, believable characters with natural acting. In addition, we will also do a lot of movement theatre to create beautiful scenes and images. A bit of everything! There will be rehearsals every Tuesday starting on the 22nd of October. Auditions are soon on the 8th and 10th of October!
